I have some questions about the Driveshaft for the 67 GT500 can somebody tell me the lenght/diameter/ important details (were they Tapered etc.?) of the 4 speed and C6 driveshaft and maybe show some pics of the correct ones.

Just a thought, all those barn finds, unrestored original cars, I have not seen photos of the underside of these cars, they are probably out there, I'm sure it's been documented, won't help as far as dimensions etc, but might lead to something ?

Call Jack@ Deadnutson---I have been dealing with him for years---he will have or make what you need, however he is not cheap, although he does not have nor can he produce tapered--Carry in Springfield has few, it might have 67---good luck

I have dealt with Jack. I even gave him a suggestion on use for his tar-paper wire cover.  Not even the courtesy of a response but I see it offered as suggested about two months post the email.  He does primarily Boss 9 and late 428 CJ/SCJ stuff.

Sorry don't have the measurements. Pretty much a straight tube with a heat line down the length where the tube was formed (welded) together. Cast yokes at both ends with visible full attachment weld all the way around and toning of the tube metal from the weld application. Balance weights look very different from most ones used and attached by shops if they are not factory or were rebalanced at some point in the past. Most originals (or at least allot of them) developed surface rust over the years so they are not much to look at

Someone here maybe got some pictures of the area of the yoke where the part number is and the date? I have 2 driveshafts here where one is 100% from a 1967 GT500 and one is installed in a GT500 but from what I see so far it has just the dot in the center of the driveshaft yoke and the ford oval. Maybe its just dirty and there is a part number also and a date not sure yet as the installed yokes are hiding it maybe.

Kent, keep in mind that not all drive shafts had the stenciled numbers. The tubing was sold in long lengths with the stencil painted numbers every so often. The tube was then cut into the need driveshaft lengths . It was the luck of the draw if a given drive shaft received a stencil painted number or not. Your driveshafts may not originally had the numbers on them .

Original assemblyline driveshafts did not have Ford part numbers on them . I have seen some service replacement drive shafts with part numbers on them. The numbers on the assemblyline tube was a MFG ID number and not a Ford part number.

Sorry my english is maybe messing it up. I´m talking about the part number on the yoke of the driveshaft. On the tube of the driveshaft there is nothing just some weights. Here are some pictures. And the othere one just has the dot in the middle and maybe under the dirt there is also something but its installed. I can barely see the ford logo under the dirt.
