Title: Tire recommendations for a KR
Post by: chipchambliss on March 12, 2020, 10:50:27 AM
Morning Everyone,

I recently bought a KR with 10-spokes that has 225/50/VR15's on the front and 265/50/VR15's on the back.  I seem to be rubbing the wells pretty regularly.  Does anyone have a recommendation on the largest tires they've used that didn't give them issues?

Thanks!

Here's a starting point:
225/60 R15 front & rear (I prefer the 60 series over the 50 series for how they fill the wheel wells in the side view.)
GT500 convertible
Factory springs front & rear
10 Spoke aluminum wheels
1" drop on upper control arms
No rubs front or rear...so far

I use 215 70 x 15 on the front and 255 60 x 15 on the rear of my KR. These fill the openings and no rub, as the front wheel lip moldings have been trimmed. My original service records for my car indicated that the E 70 x 15 tires were rubbing from the factory.
