Hello all,
New here, hoping for some help on checking out the VIN on a Shelby I'm looking to purchase. the VIN is 1ZVBP8KZ4D5235571. The car seems to be really well taken cared of from what the owner is saying, I',m going to be checking it out this coming saturday.
Thanks for any help!
Not a Shelby vin...
Welcome,
The Shelby American Automobile Club focuses on vintage Shelbys built in the 1960s.
You might not get much help here with a late model
Hi Bremmersjr,
This looks like a late model Mustang. The expertise on this forum is the early SAI products. Have you decomposed the VIN on the internet? The CJ Pony Parts VIN Decoder is repeated below. You get a VIN report? Might be worth the cost.
Best of luck
Cory

Looks like a newer Shelby VIN. You may have better luck at Team Shelby. https://www.teamshelby.com/ (https://www.teamshelby.com/)
Best bet on late model cars is CarFax or some of the other sites that have all the data.

Hello Felix,
The VIN you provided does belong to a 1968 Shelby. It was originally a white Hertz rental car shipped to Gotham Ford. I have more information.
You have said it was manufactured in 1967. Where does this information come from?
Do you have any photographs of the identification tags or the car?
One can really not authenticate the car without seeing it.
