Hi all,
This radiator is being offered on auction as a C4ZE-G2 four speed radiator. I am not sure if original G2's were made this late. My understanding is the G2's are 65 models and very early 66 GT350's. Anyone can buy a C4ZE-G2 tag from AMK, convert bottom tank to four speed and solder onto any W-MO radiator.
Any thoughts?
Cory

The bottom tank does not look like a original 4 speed bottom tank does. Given in the discription it explains that there is a new bottom tank. I think your acessment of making one into another is with a 4 speed lower tank and a AMK tag highly probable. It probably started out as a automatic radiator. If it looks the part now it still could be used like a original one in a Concours car but not Premeire. I dislike the implication it is all original . The donor radiator 250-350? A recore is 400-500 . AMK tag 20.00. The effort to get this all done ? The 899.00 price ready to go may not be too far off if at all. No harm no foul then ? What say you?

Hi Bob,
I agree with your assessment. It might be a slightly affordable means to get a G2 looking radiator. As long as the potential buyers understand what they are getting.
Take care

Cory it appears that Dec 65-Jan was the change over for the G2 to M2 identification with examples of both found with Jan 66 western Modine radiators based on what I've recorded.
The other details appear to have addressed

Hi Jeff,
I have a question related to this transition date. Very early G2's had the C4ZE-G2 embossed into the top tank. When did Western Modine transition to the C4ZE-G2 tag soldered on?
Thanks
Cory
I think this was discussed on the old forum or at the concours site and Jeff has seen examples that the change over was the the 7-65 time frame? Was that correct Jeff?
Cheers

Correct That is what showed up through a bunch of examples. In the thread below examples of Western Modine radiators dated 7 65 show both stamped and soldered

We've been going (slowly but surely) through lists of running changes for a number of years and car assembly plants.
