Title: 1967 Thermactor Hose Clamp Finish
Post by: Shelby_r_b on December 28, 2019, 06:19:12 PM
Hey - what is the correct gold finish applied to the thermactor hose clamps on a 1967 GT350?  Is it Gold CAD?

Thanks!

Final look of the finish will depend on the condition of the clamps before they are plated so pick out the best and plate (if possible) twice as many as you need. Some will look brighter and you may choose to dull them down a bit or at least pick a set from the collection where the finish is fairly consistent across the board

Since most places barrel plate today 20 or more extra will not normally cost you any more and you can sell the left overs but keep a few as back ups.

Great point and suggestion, Jeff.  I have accumulated quite a few recently (buying in bulk  ;)), so I'll make sure to have them all done at one time.

Is there a place that you recommend for plating services?
