Post by: 6s1640 on November 27, 2019, 02:45:33 PM
Hi guys,

Spendy, but cool.  Not mine.  I have seen these sell as high as $2500.  Market is down.

It is a very cool gauge, but can be boring as well.  For normal driving, the needle hardly moves and mostly just sits there looking cool.  It does encourage heavy foot at every stop sign or light.  The funny parts it also acts as a device for measuring the grade of a hill.  Going up a very steep hill will measure a fraction of a "g".

So a .10 g is a 10% grade, which is a pretty steep hill.  A 10% grade is a 528 feet rise over a mile.

To check the accuracy of the meter, just hold over your head tipped 90 degrees and it should read 1.0 g's.  You will also see its lag time to get to 1.0 g's.

It sold.  Someone is going to be happy.  Excepting the wife of course.  Better hide it.
