I spotted this little artifact on ebay. I am not associated with this item in any way. It's a rather interesting piece.
Interesting. Wish there was more backstory.
I can imagine the seller wants to take advantage of the movie release.
Written the day after Ken died at Riverside. I don't want to know more.
It was only 192 some odd dollars. Had to be reimbursement of some order

In the movie they were excited because he was going to be paid 200.00 a week for what ever that is worth.
Lol, no Bob it was $200 a day!!
Wow. Interesting, especially the price.
The 'seller' lists a number of SAI cancelled checks.
Could these have had their origin in the boxes of then forlorn SAI docs 'found' in Gardena in 1976-1977ish timeframe?
You know, the ones that have been hoarded and made 'experts' and 'registrars' out of those who tease us occasionally with their contents?

haha yes it does say $200 a day. Maybe they owed him for a day. Either way, neat Piece.
Or a partial day 😉
Probably no way to know for sure what the purpose of that check was, but if it was payment for services rendered the day before, that is truly macabre.
$200 minus payroll taxes? But I'd think it would've been in Ken's name, not Muriel's.
Maybe she got paid for assisting with some time keeping at the track?

I agree. There is a certain darkness associated with it. Not something I'd want to own.

Per the description, that's exactly what it was for. It's a bit morbid to profit on that.

He died the day before - not much sense in writing him a check.
Here is what is associated with this check: Tears of a new widow's anguish upon opening the envelope that contained this check. I am 90 percent scientific with a 10 percent variable to allow for superstition. I would not want this check in my house.
As an addendum, you know she saw the check because she endorsed it.

I am certain the description wasn't there yesterday.
