Title: 68 Instrument Cluster backplate
Post by: shelbydoug on November 11, 2019, 03:28:01 PM
As the title implies, I need a backplate for the instrument cluster for use with the tach.
I haven't seen a reproduction for the tach version yet. Just the standard version. A repro would be fine though or even info on which vendors have them? So far I find it just a waste of time to call most.
It's just an Easter Egg hunt and I just keep finding goose droppings so far? >:(

No Dynacorn instrument components.

The difference between standard backing plates and tach plates is that the tach plate version has a tach cup dimple welded into a standard backing plate.

That isn't difficult to do if you have the tach cup (which I do) and can cut standard unit (which I can) and dimple weld them together (I've got the dimple welder).

Why bother if I can come up with the right backing plate to begin with? Anyone got one available? PM me. Thanks.
