I just want to comment on how amazing it is that we have folks in this hobby who provide a service like he does. I'm building up a 289 Hipo engine dated to late '66. Where else would I begin to go to find a 4201S Fuel pump, never mind getting it restored? I really hope there are new guys learning these skills so we don't lose services like these, but I fear there isn't.
Great guy to work with, but I'm sure all of you veterans already know that. :)
You can't beat Flying Fred! Great guy for sure.
Had numerous phone conversations with Fred over the last 15 plus years. Great guy, excellent knowledge, and a straight shooter on parts and services.
Great guy .We are lucky to have him do his thing also. I don't know of anyone who does what he does.
Done quite a bit of business with Fred... He is a straight shooter for sure!
Ditto on Fred, but his knowledge and experience goes beyond hipos. Ask him about Boss 9s!
I to have purchased many parts from
Fred, incredible knowledge an always

Great guy...patient, knowledgeable, passionate.
Just sent my 4201S to Fred today for restoration. Can't wait to get it back given the stellar reputation he has.
Fred is great, send him the pump and the money and it comes back looking like new. Great person to deal with
ABSOLUTELY!
Steve
A wonderful guy and he's only 5 miles from me.
I have dealt with him a lot and he is a great guy!!
Gonna have to start referring to him as "Big Head Fred" instead of "Flying Fred"after all this. BTW, Fred did excellent job on my 3939S. Can't be a nicer guy who knows his stuff.
Fred is a great guy to do business with. Traded pumps with him to get the correct date code.

Just bought an NOS hi-po clutch setup, always very helpful.
Wow, I just received a long email from Mr Ballard describing how he was mandatorily evacuated from his house out in California:
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/50-000-ordered-evacuate-wildfire-spreads-north-los-angeles-n1071736
Please say a prayer for Fred and the other folks affected by this. He's lived in his house for over 41 years, but this is the first time he really feared his house wouldn't be there.
Oh MAN! Prayers for he and his family.
Praying Fred and his family are safe.
Fred and I exchanged emails yesterday to confirm he received my fuel pump. He was part of the mandatory evacuation last weekend and only got back into his house yesterday. There were houses burnt as close as 3 blocks away from his. The complete story he recounted was a lot longer and pretty incredible. He is safe and very lucky !
Thank goodness!
Thank you everyone for your concerns. Yes, everything has calmed down here now and being as all of the brush in my area has now burned, I feel safe that no fires can reach me again for at least a year. A good comparison of this fire is to a category one hurricane as we had 50 MPH winds plus wind gusts up to almost 80 MPH here. The difference here is that we replaced the rain of a hurricane with fire. The fire crews here with their DC10 aircraft with 11,600 gallon fire retardant drops, super scoopers airplanes carrying 1,600 gallons of water and numerous water dropping helicopters with a 1,000 gallon capacity do a tremendous job of quenching fires. Even with all of that they still lose homes and structures because mother nature is just much bigger than we are.
