Title: Franklin Mint 1968 KR model
Post by: BGlover67 on August 25, 2019, 04:19:55 PM
I received a gift about 10 years ago of a Franklin Mint 1968 KR, hand signed by the man.  I finally pulled it out to add to my Shelby display case, and noticed that it has a very small Shelby VIN tag under the hood.

It reads:  CT02R2J3305-04030.

I pulled out my '68-'70 Registry, and quickly found it was based on car no:  8T02R213305-04030.  Pretty cool!  Interestingly, they changed the VIN number slightly.  Just thought it was intriguing, and thought I'd share.

I have the 65 Franklin mint Shelby and ordered early enough where I got one of the first 562. I believe mine is #132(or close to that-been years since I looked at the number) and the real car is owned by a forum member-or was many years ago. :)
