I went with friends to the MECUM auction on Thursday to check out the cars they had. I was pleasantly surprised to see several Cobras one was the metallic pink CobraSnake, also Drew Serbs or at least last I knew was Drew's CSX3016, the 65 Prototype GT40 roadster, S5148 and a very nice Dr blue 67 GT500. Check out the pics. Enjoy
(I can only post four(4) images at a time....so
Cheers,

1965 Ford GT40 roadster
CSX2245
(Last pic was interesting to me as my slow but current project is CSX2079)
CSX2588 ??
An AC Bristol (1958), I thought this was very cool
SFM5S148. I have my doubts about this car. Some details are not correct (see what I see?) BUT this is MECUM
67 GT500 00410
The Steve McQueen Bullitt car, the one that was found in a Mexican junk yard. It was in an enclosure, so I couldn't get close ups.
There were a bunch of other really cool cars non-Ford/Shelby like this Corvette Gran Sport

Believe your pictures show the other Bullitt car - the one
not found and rebuilt from the Mexican junk yard.
Its the one that was hidden away for decades
Very different car
Thanks for posting all the pictures

That's correct, as the documentation near the car shows as such.
Man, the patina on this car gave me goose bumps! Also, it's really cool to see the support braces that were welded in place under the car for the move. They weren't messing around!

Sold for $121k? Your doubts must be well founded.

From Mecum's description:
"Body replaced at time of restoration, driven sparingly since"

Hello Jeff, you would have thought I would have read the info other than me just assuming it was the car that was found in the Mexican junk yard. Thanks for the correction.

Here is a pic of the 3 horizontal reinforcement bars circled in green.
Also, there's a documentary about the car coming out this December.

I think you are confusing Drew's CSX3022 with the "CSX3016" pictured.
6S148 hammered at $121,000. Estimates were at $175-200K. Hmmmm.

I think you will find that was 5S148. IMHO not very surprising - the sale price or that the auction house over estimated the possible sale.
Auction house even stated during the auction that the body had been replaced as well as it being listed on the description. Discussion elsewhere on this site.
