Title: Help needed - Torque values for brake parts 1966 Mustang/GT350
Post by: 6s1640 on July 22, 2019, 03:08:02 PM
Hi all,

Can some double check my numbers on torque.  I can't find my Ford Maintenance Manual with these numbers.  I found from an alternate source with the below values, but would like to confirm.

Front disc brake caliper to mounting bracket  45 to 60 ft-lbs.

Front disc brake mounting bracket to spindle 35 to 45 ft-lbs.

Rear brake backing plate to axle housing 30 to 40 ft-lbs.

Thank you

Cory

     Cory ,
I go to high on the caliper bolts , mid on the attaching bolts and low on the backing plates. ( 60-40-30) Never fails. Over tightening the attaching bolts WILL break the bolt at the end of the threads.
