6S281 came new with 15 inch Kelsey Hayes silver steel wheels and still has them. According to some ads I've seen it sounds like the first 200 1966 cars came with Goodyear blue dots. What tires would've come new on 281?
Thanks in advance, Karl

15 inch wheels got Goodyear Blue Dots. 14 inch wheels got Goodyear Bluestreaks.
Bob, I have always thought the same but this ad and others threw me:
"The 775/15 Goodyear Blue Dot HP Power Cushion tire is original for the 1965 Shelby Mustangs and the first 200 1966 Shelbys. 2-ply nylon tubeless construction."
Would be interesting to know if or when they did change tires on 15 inch wheel cars in 1966?
Karl your car is right around the point where the change was from 15 to 14 as cars in the 300's have 14" wheels. As Bob said , blue dots for 15" wheels and Blue Streaks for 14s.
Actually cars in the 300s did have 15 inch wheels. I believe the change to 14 inch was close to 400.
Perfect. Maybe we can nail down when the change was. Factory invoices would be telling. Mine ( 477 and a Hertz) clearly states 14" wheels. I know I've seen some 300's with 14" wheels ( back in the day that is).

Another bonus for a carryover car! My car, 1124, has the 14" wheels with blue streaks. I prefer the 15" steelies or cragars
