As many of you know, I got a strep infection after a Dentist cleaning and two heart valves were destroyed.
6 weeks after surgery I feel like an animal farm after one valve come from a cow and the other from a pig.
Also got a pacemaker installed. No matching serial number any longer. Got home yesterday with a wheelchair and walker.
Like to thank all my friends who visited me at rehab, Doctors and Nurses at Medical Centre of Plano, TX and above all my family.
Texas Swede
Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!

Wow, wishing you a speedy recovery mate. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get there.
Best wishes
Oral hygiene is very important! Same thing happened to one of my best friends at 40 and he literally almost died! Emergency surgery saved his life. Be careful out there fellas and enjoy everyday like it's the last! Glad to hear you're doing well. Although you're no longer numbers matching, you are "period correct!"
You are in my prayers .Get better soon.
So sorry to hear this, and I'm glad that you're well enough to let us all know how you're doing.
Prayers for a speedy recovery!
In our thoughts and prayers
Speedy recovery
our thought and prayers are with you and your family
praying for your speedy and full recovery
You've got almost as many spare parts inside you as CS did.
Take care and get better soon. Your Shelbys need driving!
All the best Bo.
Steve
Take care, Bo!
:)

Hi Bo. Paul kept me updated on your status. You have been in my and Susan's prayers. Glad to see you have gone home. Paul and I are going to SAAC and wish you could go. Speedy recovery my friend. My old car misses you. Rick.
Bo
Hollie and I have both raised you and your wife up in our prayers when you gave me the call couple weeks ago about your condition. I had no idea such damage could be caused by something we typically take for granted. Hopefully it was a valve from a Texas Longhorn.....Plano is literally down the highway from my hometown. Continued prayers to you and your wife my friend.

My families prayers to you for a speedy recovery
So sorry to hear about your problems, praying for a speedy recovery.
Tough way to get a "valve job"! Hope the pacemaker comes with free "tunes". All kidding aside, wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
That's intensely sad. All that from a dental cleaning? Stay strong mentally and the physical will follow the mind.
Hi Bo,
It's great to hear you're home and continuing to recover from your surgery. I was wondering how you were doing, but afraid ask.
You have my best wishes for a quick recovery.
All my best,
Rich
I don't know you personally, but feel I know everyone on here to a degree. I want to wish you a speedy recovery ;)
Bo,
Our prayers are for you and wish you a rapid recovery.

My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.
I'm really sorry to hear that you went through such an ordeal. Another case of bad things happening to good people. This is also a good example for others, when filling out your health histories at a dental office, it's important to list everything. Obviously, I don't know your situation, but most cases of Endocarditis occur from underlying heart valve damage from a history of previous heart disease, most likely rhuematic fever. When a physician or dentist says you need to premedicate, it's not a joke. Patients fight me about it all the time, but the risk isn't worth it. The same holds true for folks who have recently received prosthetic hips, knees, heart valves, spinal fusion rods, plates and screws just to name a few.
I'll say a prayer for a quick and thorough recovery. Too many good days of driving your Shelby's await. God's speed.
Dang, Bo glad you're still with us - hope you're back up to speed soon!
Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Prayers for a complete and speedy recovery!!!
Best regards,
Eric
Bo,
I hope you continue to get better so you can drive your cars
Brad
Prayers for a full & speedy recovery. BTW, matching numbers are not as important as just keeping the engine running and staying in the race. I'm happy we can still say that about you.
Steve
Get better man!!!The car is not going to drive itself...
Good luck with your recovery ! Medical/health issues can rob us all of a lot of the fun of our car hobby. Take time to heal and get strong.
Sorry to hear this, Bo, but happy to hear that you're on the mend!
Rest up and you'll be bangin gears again in no time 8)
Vern
Here's hoping you get better real soon, a good therapy would be a ride in a Shelby, if I lived closer I'd be there today to make it happen
I really want to echo the sentiments of others here in wishing you a full and speedy recovery. We all too many times take our health for granted and I can tell you from my own personal experiences there is no more humbling experience than to suddenly be hit with a serious health problem. I pray that your status will improve and that you enjoy even more each and every day. I will continue to lift you up in prayer.
Bo,
Prayers for a speedy recovery my friend!
Hopefully Dr's orders included a drive in 5S275 as soon as you are able!
Dave
Get better soon Friend.
So sorry to hear about this! Rest and get well!
...from a simple teeth cleaning procedure? YIKES! My wife has a friend who's son got the same infection and he didn't make it. He was mid 20's. I am glad you are still with us and will add to the prayers for your continued recovery. All the best.
Jeff
Thanks a million guys fpr all your kind words and prayers,
Texas Swede
All of you:Always rinse a hydrogen peroxide/water mix in your mouth for a minute every day, even if you can't brush...kills bacteria.Havent had a cavity or bacteria issue in years.Best advice my dentist ever gave me.Get well soon.
Hydrogen Peroxide kills everything but fungus thus putting you at high risk for a nasty intaoral fungal infection.
You can google thrush.
This situation is unfortunately a perfect storm of several factors coming together at one time. Refer back to Brian's post.
Texas Swede, continue to get better. 😎

What is the recommended ratio?
I'd listen to 2112 on dental issues.
