Title: 69 Holley CJ carb question
Post by: acman63 on June 26, 2019, 11:29:38 PM
someone asked me today about carb dashpots and I wasn't sure. The question being do both 4 speed and automatic transmission carbs use the dashpot?

Jim. They did unless they had AC. With AC, they had a solenoid. Take a look at the 428CJ Registry site, under Engine Component Identification. Good information there.

ALL 69 cjs used the dashpots with and without a/c  but the 70 428 cj (except for 70 gt500 that still used the dashpot) used the dashpot on aa & ab carbs BUT the  rare 70 428 cjs that had factory A/C used the electric soliniod setup on ac & ad 70 carbs. The 1970  mustang 428 cj 4-speed cars with factory a/c are very rare under 10 made.
