Title: Seat restoration
Post by: Dunerider777 on March 27, 2019, 06:35:53 PM
Redoing the seats for my car and wanted to find out if anyone knows where to get the rods that weave through the burlap. If they are not available does anyone have a recommendation of what can be used to recreate them.

The rods essentially prevent the burlap and foam pads from working through the springs.  When i did mine years ago, and on a budget, I used wires used for making artificial flower arrangements.  They are not as stiff, but performed well.  To weave them in, fold the burlap repeatedly as you would making a paper fan.  Push the wire through one edge, and curl the ends of the wire around a linen "rope".  When all the wires are installed,  pull the burlap flat.
