Does anyone have clear photo's and measurements of the polished Paxton air filter can? Not a huge fan of the K&N filter look.
The small style air cleaner, or the larger?
Never have seen a polished one?
John
Either one I guess. My memory could be failing me, it's been a long time since I saw one.

Steve,
Feel free to email me, will send you good vivid pictures of the two styles.
There were good pictures and descriptions from numerous members herein the SAAC community, but
all was lost when the site crashed.

The correct Paxton air filter can for the early Shelbys is made of steel with an industrial chrome finish (not a high polish job at all). The later version air filter can offered in the 80's was made of aluminum with a satin finish and this could easily be polished. Both are about the same dimensions and very similar in appearance. The early steel version is a lot harder to find.
Yeah, something like hens teeth...
If I can get enough detailed photo's I plan on making one.
Steve,
Just emailed you a few pics of the two different sizes of the Paxton air cleaners.
Both accept the same ford filter, I sent you an original ford script air filter picture also.
BTW, >>Blueish greenish rubber was used.
The pictures show the differences in size between the two stock paxton air cleaners.
George is correct about the finishes, best worded as he put it, and industrial type finish/plate/.
John
Thanks John and George. Any measurements you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
I've got an extra That came with a Paxton setup from the 80's if anyone is interested.

FYI, this is what it looks like:

George said the early version was made of steel and the 80's version of aluminum. I put a magnet to it and it stuck, and it's heavy so I think it's steel. Anyone have an idea of value then?
Here are a few more photo's courtesy of John.

I have three variations of originals, from 1957- 1968.
All accepted the same air filter element.
I am sorry to say, but from all appearances, the one you have is a repop, or something made much later.
There are several differences, all three I have here, have the same build construction, spot welds and more.

I might add that the blowers had two different shaft lengths, 3 different style's/brand names for clamps, black , blue, white blower cases, and three different carburetor bonnet / enclosures. Two are shown
The long angled metal tube pictured, may be for an ac cobra application, I have a picture of one installed on a SB cobra.
There is also evidence that the some air cleaner can's were pointed down, and no hole was necessary in the radiator support for application.
Isn't the blower for 1968 white? Also, there are different shaft lengths for a/c and non a/c I beleive as well as different blower craddles for mounting the blower. 8)
Yes, in 68 the over the counter blowers were white. I've got the non-AC setup.
John had asked me to post a couple more pics. Hope they come through.
Thanks Greg,
The part number is on a napa box, decades old.
But may still be able to cross reference and get a filter.
That should help some of you guys wanting to build an air cleaner.
The air cleaner location has been debated before, there are other pictures showing it mounted down word as i had mentioned before..
Don, I am not quite sure about the a/c for the shaft lengths? You are probably correct !!!
I know the dual Paxton cobra, when original, had one size, I also know that a 65-66 Shelby had the same size length.
Not sure if P steering plays into the scheme of things or not.
Anybody with a 67 Shelby or mustang with Paxton, they might have the answer/
Best regards,
john
Does anyone have a photo of the grill/bracket that attaches to the rad support?
Steve M,
Can't understand what you are asking.?
There is a round hole in a bracket that has a screen on it, nad does bolt on..
Or ?
Is this what you are talking about? Here is one on Ebay . Craig Conley the seller is otherwise known as MR. Paxton. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GT-350-SHELBY-MUSTANG-MR-NORMS-GSS340-NOS-PAXTON-SUPERCHARGER-KIT-INLET-SCREEN/333091178564
