Title: Inboard Headlight Question?
Post by: FordGT on December 27, 2018, 12:42:01 AM
What are the correct fasteners for inboard headlight buckets?

I own an early February GT350 and the car does have inboard lights. My lights have 3/16 x 1/2 hex bolts with lock washers.  Are these the correct fasteners? or is slotted sheet metal screws correct?

Thanks

AMK offers both early and late inboard kits.

It depends.  Go to the thread labeled "center headlight brackets" and study the photos Bob G posted.  Seems they used self tapping screws (although the heads are not shown) and also bolts with washers and nuts (again, the heads are not shown)  Likely this is another example of needing to know your cars' assembly date at Shelby American.

The way they are offered is " to #200. # 200 up.  My headlight buckets in the fenders used sheet metal screws. The inboard has pan head with slots, flat and self-locking nut. I think they're 10-24.
