Title: Headlight identification
Post by: aboss4tg on October 22, 2026, 02:53:13 PM
I have three small head lights I believe are for various cars and need help on what they fit and if worth using.
The second photo shows the TS on the bottom and 5001 50W and what looks like a date, K8.
The third photo shows the TS on the bottom, but the fluted area is smaller and also had 4001 and what looks like a date A7. I was cleaning and wiped some of the letters by mistake. The fourth photo shows a General Electric logo on the bottom with the MADE FOR FORD over the oval FORD.
Any help on an ID on these would be appreciated.

The GE bulb would be the only one IMO that would be worth keeping given its 60's early 70's vintage. 4001 was the 6" high beam bulb that was used on the 4 headlight systems on 67 Shelby and 69 Mustangs and Boss. 4002 was the high low beam bulb. There is vintage factory picture evidence to support 67 Shelby's with GE bulbs without the Ford trademark. TS was probably the same way for 67 Shelby. I understand some (not all) of the 69 Mustangs and Boss cars that used 4001/4002 GE or TS bulbs did not have the Ford trademark from the factory ether. The 67 Shelby's were delivered to SA without headlights, buckets etc. so the bulbs were apparently non Ford sourced for the best price possible like many other parts that were made up for the 67 Shelby cars
