Are new correct crankshafts available for a 1968 Shelby GT500KR 428CJ? Thanks
I guess I'm not sure what one might deem as a "correct" 428 crankshaft, but there are a number of suppliers making available "428" (3.98" stroke) FE "replacement" crankshafts. These are mostly the import "cast-steel" (vs. iron) examples, in and around the $600.00 price. :)
But, if you might be one of those whom think you need to spend hundreds of dollars for an oil pump, just because in comes to you in an old "FORD" box, then these cranks might not be for you. ::)

The original 1968 Shelby GT500 crankshaft is a cast nodular iron, 3.98-inch stroke part carrying the classic "1U" (or later "1UB" for Cobra Jet applications) identification stamping on the counterweight
