New Member here, I don't know if this is the proper place to ask if not I apologize. After a life time of wanting one I am finally getting serious about trying to become an owner. I am looking at a Gt 500 in Charlotte NC at Streetside Classics, red on red, it has been in several auctions for the past ten years. It is promoted as an mostly original paint survivor, but even to my less than expert eye I see several incorrect things. I noticed the drivers door seems to be replaced I don't see the holes where the 69 door tag was, the stripes, are incorrect at least on the quarters, a chrome air cleaner lid, no sign of a manual choke, no spare, etc. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this car that throws up red flags to experienced guys.
Thanks
I think their use of the word "survivor" is misguided

Have it inspected by an expert.

X2 too many things stand out in the pictures of 3007, imagine what it will be like in person.

Thanks for the replies, I am uneasy about this car. The only thing worse than never owning one would be getting one that becomes a lawn ornament/boat anchor. I have never really been interested in 428 cars to start with, all my Mach 1's have been 351 cars. My dream would be a 68 GT 350, but i'm afraid even in low #3 or #4 condition they have moved beyond my price range. This one popped up close by.
Thanks again.
I still think you can get a good 68 GT350 for this price or less.
Dont use BaT as a guide. There are sheenanigans afoot

Aww . . . c'mon! ::)
Scott.
Not to mention a lot of "trusted partners" with wheelbarrows 🤪
I could not believe the red 68 Hertz car on BAT earlier this month. looked to be a high #3 car went to 120k, then in the last minutes shot up to 165+k.
I went and looked the car over in person, it has a obvious repaint, I would say a #3 car. I think I'll keep looking for a GT 350.
