Title: TriPower thermostat housing information needed (9-64)
Post by: 1968GT500CS on July 06, 2026, 04:49:46 PM
Hello,

For a dated matched set up for 9-64 intake and c4 carburetors, see photo, what is the correct thermostat housing?  Is it c3, or something else numbered?  Thank you for the tech expertise.  Any assistance very much appreciated.

Well, I'm not so sure I can be of any assistance, but, . . . . .  I'm thinking that since these induction systems were a Parts Dept., aka post vehicle production accessory item, and I don't think(?) they probably came with a thermostat housing "in-the-box", rather one was expected to just re-utilize that which was already there and acceptable for that vehicle chassis, so therefore, I'm thinking, the "correct" thermostat housing is the one that's "correct" for the chassis that that intake manifold is bolted into?  :-\

      O.K., maybe I'm wrong?

      Scott.

I agree that the intake would not typically come with a thermostat housing. The C4 thermostat housing would be the logical one based on the time period IMO.
