Title: Override traction bars
Post by: Ray on May 14, 2026, 11:15:07 AM
Was there a SFM serial number cut off point when override changed to underride or was it random?

I don't believe that there is any factory documentation that mentions specific car cut offs.

The information comes from owners filling out Registry information cards for the SAAC Registry.

It wasn't random but a effort by SA to a lower cost of material and  labor ,like Koni shocks and lowering A arm at the same time . Factory memos and observations over the years indicate it was approximately Shelby vin 900-920 or there about when changes including eliminating the override traction bars were being made.

Thank you both for the responses. That information stacks up as mine is 903 and it has override.
