I figured I'd start a fresh thread for this specific endeavor. All being used on a Museum presentation on the detailed full history of the 1965 GT-350.
Looking for pictures and information on the Mustangs Remmington & Miles worked on and tested before the first fastback was built.
According to my two Chuck Cantwell interviews, they used four cars:
TDF Mustang from Alan Mann
IRS Prototype Coupe from Ford
1965 stock Mustang GT
And a Jaguar XKE used as a comparison benchmark.
The final result was the IRS front suspension(A-Arm drop), Mann rear suspension (Overrides & Konis), upgraded 289 K motor, plus minor items.
I will be very grateful for information provided.
Thank you

Research update:
Going through my Cantwell/Kolasa books, a reference to testing the cars including a GT-350 race car is also mentioned. Possibly that was the "regular" Mustang Chuck mentioned?
Also provided more information on sourcing and selecting more of components used.

I think this is the (now restored) E Type they were chasing. The guy had run a roadster in 62/3 (also #66) and was a handful against the Cobras (in SCCA CalClub). Rick Titus told me his dad said the Jag was a real competitor against the GT350.
At that time the best XKE on the west coast was prepared by Huffaker Engineering and driven by Merle Brennan.

I believe that's the Jag that gave Jack Schroll from Mostly Mustangs ,The hardest time on track. I crewed for him from the late 70s Through the 80s, and we always wondered how a little 6 cylinder could keep up with him. But I guess the difference at two or three hundred pounds is what made that happen. They always ran head to head with one getting a little advantage at one point, and the other an advantage at another point on the track.
