I am finding some cool parts from my purchase and appreciate the responses.
I have three Autolite from shocks, two C5ZF and one C4ZF
These look to have not been installed and show dates as follows,
5FD
5BB
the C4ZF date reads,4CD and has a white and yellow paint mark on the lower section
What applications would the fit?
Todd
The suffix on the shock is important
C4ZF-18045-???
On the C5 they show A3
On the C4 it shows C1
The C5ZF-A shock is a standard shock used on six cylinders and small displacement motors with a standard suspension
The C4ZF-C was used on upgraded handing cars like GTs
Generally speaking the straight shocks and shocks with -A suffixes are standard issue. When you get to the bell shaped shocks and advanced suffixes, those are the more desirable parts
Both shocks have 1965 Mustang applications
For 65-66 Mustang, the -C would only be for a rear shock with handling package. Front shocks with handling package would be -B.
What would a packaging box labeled -B apply to ?
Typically the boxes are labeled as "kits" and don't always reflect specifically which ID shock was inside
So, with the C4ZF-C shock what are the applications for this front shock? I see a few different descriptions in the responses.

They for sure are not any type of Shelby application so you may find more information from those that are more tuned in to regular Mustang applications and parts at the Concours Mustang forum. Best of luck with the sale of your parts.
