2 inch is for 427 and 1 3/4 is typically for 67 GT500 and 68 GT350/GT500.
The filter itself is 1 3/4, but overall height is 2. I had to use a 3x2 filter to clear my hood on my 67 Fairlane.
Overall height on the 67 and 68 Shelby oval filter is typically 1 3/4 . C3AZ-9601-E . I typically find later white paper 1 3/4 overall height ones in F48 boxes.
