Title: 68 fuel line routing
Post by: SAcobra427 on March 23, 2026, 09:39:57 AM
Hey Guys,
So I'm about to install my new fuel line from the tank forward and I can't seem to remember how my old line was attached to the body from the tank to the front torque box area.
Anyone have some pics to help me remember ? Its an automatic 500KR conv.

Thanks,  Tom

I don't have a picture handy but inside DS frame rail near vent hose is held by clip and bolt. There is a spring clip on the gas tank opening drop. Where it crosses torque box there is metal guard held by 3 bolts.

OK Thanks for the pic, here is what's confusing me, my car does not have the guard and there are no holes in    the floor where a guard would have been bolted to. This is an early KR conv.(bucked 4/24/68) with an automatic.
Could it have possibly had the fuel line that would have been installed on a 4spd (staggard shock) car instead ?
Or possibly the guard was just never installed ?

Holes are present even on staggered shock car so no. Sound like maybe torque box replaced?

OK good clue, I'll have to look a lot closer to see if my body guy filled them by mistake which is what i'm starting to think.
Thanks Tim,
