Title: Console rivet with no purpose
Post by: Paulb on March 15, 2026, 11:07:14 PM
I have seen some consoles with this rivet and some not.  It seems to be a 1970 thing.  Can anyone shed some light on this, and dates of when they start to add this rivet? Thanks

70 only console changed when 70 factory hurst shifters came out in 70 models and there is an outward hump in lh side tunnel shifter mount area so no front console metal bracket so screw in hole not used so a poprivet was to fill the hole and the support bracket is between shifter and console on 70.

Ed, was it all '70 models or was it another one of those things like early '70's did not and later '70's did?

Thanks
