I was wondering if the booster currently in my KR is the original one before I send it out for rebuilding.
It's car 2295, built May 1st.
Reason I ask is because it is a Bendix and from what I can gather it seems that the Midland Ross was the most commonly used around this time. The car does have most all of its original parts throughout but I'm not sure about the booster.
Did Bendix use any type of date code? There appears to be a number 1189 ( or maybe 1139) stamped in a vertical direction near the fitting.
Thanks, TomIMG_3150.jpeg
No. Not original to the car
Wow that was fast! Thanks Pete. So I'm looking for the Midland Ross type then correct ?
The Bendix unit was typically used on 69 and 70 Mustangs and Shelby's.
OK Thanks, Bob ;)
I'm not sure this is correct, but this is what I have If you are interested.

Yes the one roy has is the correct Midland Booster . I always highly suggest to tag the aluminum ID tag off of the band clamp before sending in for a rebuild(Booster Dewey/Booster Steve). The assemblyline tags are missing on a high percentage of restored boosters.
Thanks Roy but I just picked one up from one of the local Ford guys around here this morning.
I would however be interested in the tag you have there.
Let me know,
Thanks
If I sold you just the tag, then the value of the booster would drop dramatically in my opinion.

+1 . As a alternative you can take a piece of aluminum sheet cut it to exact size put it on the machine bolt fold it over and paint it black and you will accomplish the same look and it will pass in concours . Depending on the way they are folded over (which is the way the MFG installed them) you can only see the smooth side anyway. At least a knowledgeable concours judge should know that.
OK Bob thanks for the tip ! Any Idea what the aprox dimensions of those tags were ?
Thanks Tom

That's easy enough.
