Sadly we lost Doug Cresanta yesterday .... I will forward more info regarding services as soon as I know them .

I talked to Kathy a few days ago while Doug was in the hospital. It is a sincere loss to us and SAAC. He attended 46 conventions, 37 with a car. He restored 6S188 and took it to conventions, car shows and numerous special events and tours.
I met Doug and Kathy about 35 years ago when he came to Honolulu each year for license upgrade renwals for Continental pilots and navigators.
Doug and Kathy came to our club car shows and always volunteered at our special events that occured during their visits. They spent the rest of the time enjoying local hula and old time Hawaiian music performances. They made lasting friendships with many musicians. It also fed Dougs hobby as a very accomplished steel guitar player.
We will miss Doug and all his stories of his adventures. Hugs to Kathy. Aloha, Doug.
I had known Doug since the Jersey SAAC days. Friends, Shelby Enthusiasts. Always saw him at conventions no matter where he lived. Always a story, a unique character.
He leaves a hole that will be hard to fill.
I met Doug and Kathy about 1986 back when he was running around in his brown 65 coupe with all his own mods . We talked Shelbys and later that year i bought my 68 . We always had great long conversations revolving around the cars and the history from the guy who was in the factory when the cars were built . He always was on the hunt for a carryover car and then he found 188 . At the time i was running a small shop in nj . we went thru the 66 and cleaned it top to bottom . stuck the race motor and trans from the coupe into the 66. repowered the coupe and sold it to a guy in Norway.
Many conventions and events together followed / Then he threw a phone number too me for a job interview. Before I knew it I was restoring cobras and boss 302 race cars and Shelbys full time . And that crazy path has not stopped since.
Gonna miss him But he sure left a great memories .

After speaking with you and Kathy, I knew it was just a matter of time, but not as short a time. Glad he did not suffer further.

Godsped Doug, I will miss our conversations.
A great guy. Met him on the first GT350 Tour I went on, both he and Kathy made us feel welcome and gave me lots of information and pointers to make sure we had a great time. He had great stories and always was fun to be around. He will be missed
My condolences to Kathy and family. Doug was a great guy and made friends with everyone he met. He will be missed in the Shelby world.
Very sad. Have known Doug since our club days back in NJ and have stayed in touch once he moved roughly 45 minutes north in FL. I'll miss his special camaraderie and friendship. RIP, friend.

Truely a loss. I met Doug many years ago in a gas station on the way to one of the PA. conventions and we have been friends ever since. Doug was a very intelligent and creative hands-on guy. He was a true enthusiast who was the original owner of 67 #1111. He will be missed.
