have a question on ID'ing a 428 fan shroud. ive read the great ways to tell the difference by Anghel Restorations. Mine seems to be a combination of example 1 and 3. Has FoMoCo in Rectangle, then C8ZE-8146-C, then BARNUM OS FIBRE CO INC on side. TOP at left top. no other markings. and it's smooth instead of rough. so is it original or reproduction? thanks

I don't believe the reproductions have the Ford trademark .That way they do not have to pay licensing fee's . It sounds like yours is the last service replacement before they went obsolete. The assemblyline ones are different then the service replacements.
Mike the ford service shrouds had the fomoco with lines thru it then added ford oval by where top is at in that area. Ford replaced fomoco in 70 71 era with ford oval markings. You may have the very first good repo that was smooth but had the correct markings then they were replaced with ford markings removed and not correct material.
this does not have the FORD oval by the TOP sign. thanks guys
