Title: Flasher module location in trunk? GT350
Post by: Leterip on January 25, 2026, 05:25:07 PM
Trying to figure out the correct location for what I am assuming is the rear brake light and turn signal control module that is located in the trunk of the GT350.  Does anyone have a pic that can be shared?
thanks

I thing on your pics the bracket has been welded too far inward.

IMHO...It should let room for 3/4 inch for the foam as shown below.

The picture was to answer the OP's question of the location of the box. If you have seen many you would know that installation of the hanger varied and the hanger itself sometimes varied. For example the welding on your picture looks too perfect compared to many. If you are working on a clone or a trunk floor replacement it is best to place the hanger in the ideal distance from the edge IMO. Of course moving a untouched original is not necessary

That hanger bracket can be sourced from a 1969 Mercury Cougar.
That sequential box bracket, was brazed onto the Cougar trunk floor. Similar bracket was used on 1970-73 Cougars, but evolved. By 1970, a modified bracket with a step was introduced to 'make a gap' for the sequential box to hang.
We also see variations on the spacing of the installed bracket in 1969. 1969 version on the right.

Well it turns out that I am missing that hanger bracket but what I find interesting is that the flasher has residue from an old adhesive strip.
I may end up using velcro for this.
