Title: Grille brace
Post by: SCJSTU on January 18, 2026, 12:23:37 PM
Saw this brace on the 69 GT350 Engineering car #2329

Was this brace used on production cars for 1969?

Never seen one on a regular production Shelby and I've seen a lot.

Since it's a late built car I question if that is something done originally but agree not seen that or see the need. If we knew the dimensions we might be able to figure out where it might have migrated from. Only looks like one on that side

+1 . May 69 build makes this extremely unlikely that there would be any prototype development at the almost end of 69/70 Shelby production especially knowing that Shelby program was to be ended. There was no support problem that existed at the fog light bracket that the brace is attached to . Also the non original rusty latch support because of inappropriate date code, non original latch support bolts do not add any creditability that the out of ordinary brace was original on the car ether.
