Title: 1969 Seat Belt Warning Light Installation
Post by: Mike H on January 17, 2026, 05:34:08 PM
1969 GT350 4-speed  Marti report calls for it to have the seat belt warning light, but it did not when I first got the car. I have sourced the parts to install.and I see it goes above and to the right of ignition switch  Question - what size hole do I drill? and any install tips? TY

I went through this a few years ago. See forum post: https://www.saac.com/forum/index.php?topic=22926.0

The hole diameters are not called out in the drawing. Best to use a caliper to measure the diameter of the widest part of the socket and use a step drill bit to work up that hole size. Maybe go 1/16" smaller and then use a file to make sure the socket fits snugly. Good luck!

depends on when car was built as early cars never used both holes.

I thought the early cars only had the Park light and the Belts light came later. That's the way mine is (Jan 8th). Did you check you parking brake mechanism to see if the switch is there for the Park light?

hi Dennis  i assumed my Marti Report would say if I had the park brake warning light?  it just says Seat Belt Warning Light on my March 18th build.

Hi Mike, my Marti report does not show the Park light but my build sheet (repop not original) shows a V under the Visibility/Convenience box. Would have to find out what the V stands for but my understanding was the Park light was part of the Convenience group but not 100% certain of that.
