Has anyone taken the oil tube out of one of these intakes? Hard, easy? I need to pull a Thermactor tube out to replace with a regular correct tube. With that note, where can I get a tube that's correct for standard C7ZX intake?
Thanks

Relatively easy to remove. Get a 1/2 drive socket sized to fit the interior of the tube . Get a foot long extension and using it in the socket as a lever to work the tube back and forth until it wiggles out. There are more evasive ways to remove the tube but this is the way I have typically removed them so that they can be reused. Get the standard oil fill tube from our friend at Branda. The tubes were painted black when they were installed at the engine plant.
Thanks Bob
Did all GT500's have these oil filler tubes, have seen them both ways?

Regular production 67 GT500's typically ether had the straight fill tube or if the car had thermactor the fill tube with the nipple made into the side.
Ok I have another ? for the experts on the 67 500 intakes. I have seen the heater hose elbow 3/8 NPT and 1/2. An intake with the Thermactor oil tube, would it have either size or the 1/2 NPT? Anyone ever noticed the size of hole? If the intakes came both ways then u would have to use a down sizing fitting to make the elbow fit.

The C7ZX Intake only came one way . The larger hole is typically the result of cross threading and a larger hole is drilled and tapped. The way to properly fix the hole is to have it weld shut then redrill to correct size and tap. A downsizing adapter is not anything Ford did and is frowned upon in general by enthusiasts.
