While a 67 Shelby convertible was never in the sales lineup, your project is legit because the original Shelby convertible concept car was built in 67 with all the 67 Shelby body parts. At least that's my understanding. You'll be building a replica of the concept car. Keep us posted on your progress.

Built this in 1980-1982 based on a standard 68 convertible. Pictures are from 1985!

Side scoops fitted, on to the roll bar installation. So far the quarter window extensions from Branda are to short. Have to add 1 inch tube.

Taillight metal boxes installed. Waiting on Dynacorn backorder taillight harness. Decklid coming out of the body shop next week. It is a original GT/CS decklid along with both Original quarter extensions that I had.

It's got everything BJ looks for - Auction red and when the top goes down the price goes up.
Please don't Eleanor it with 20" wheels.

Planning on 17 inch V45 style wheels, My other convert has 17 inch.

Mocked up a pair of inner quarter window metal pieces from a 67 coupe panel. That way I do not cut up the panels that came with the car and can sell them since they both are in nice condition.

Rear window crank extensions from Branda. I found out they are to short so I extended them 1 inch but now just cut off 1/4 inch to fit closer to the correct length.

That's great work on the extensions.

Keep up the good progress!

Installed quarter window extensions. Ended up cutting off 1/4 inch off the 1inch tube extension that was welded on. Stuck out to far.

Have the plastic panels fitted and showing window crank location.

Resting the roll bar on the panels showing the top missing it when lowered or raised. Now on to welding the bottom tube to the body so the roll bar will slide over and bolting both together for removal down the road it needed. Like quarter window issues.

Fitting new repo dash aluminum pieces. Sending off OEM ones to be restored to put up for sale. All but the heater control plate.

Also took off the orig aluminum, the 4 pieces. When restoring they toss them and put aftermarket ones on.

Nice build detail it's the little things that you don't see that makes the difference in how it goes together.
