Title: 66 original exhaust

 I purchased a 66 A code a while back with dual exhaust installed and these were on the car with these paper tags.
There are stampings that read 2.000 AL in two spots on these and would like to know if these are originals?

 I only showed the one side as I am cleaning up the surface rust on them, and they show no major issues or rust thru. Used rust cleaner jell and brass brush with great results.

I'm thinking of using these on my 66 Hertz. Any comments would be appreciated.

Scott's stuff is spot on, I normally would not say compare it to reproduction parts, but I would in this case

Hi Aboss4tg,  That A-code exhaust is likely a Ford service replacement and should swap into the Hertz car with no issues.  Putting on your Hertz is a function of your intended goals with the car.  The exhaust made by Scott Fuller, though a reproduction, will look closed to an assembly line exhaust, with appropriately dated coded mufflers and pieces stamped with the Ford part numbers.  Have you looked at the Scott Fuller exhaust? Date codes available are March, June, September and November, 1965. If is very nice.

 I have looked at the Scott Fuller set up and have considered purchasing. When I started cleaning these parts, they were in such good condition I thought about using on my 66. I'm sure it would be best to use the Fuller set up and maybe sell these to someone that can use them.

 I appreciate the responses and wanted to see what others thought would work.

Pictures of the mufflers would help with a evaluation.

go with new matched exhaust system

you have several options:

go Economical, Good, Better or Best.

Brand X

Precision exhaust

Scott Fuller

on our 1966 black and gold bad boy Hertz someone installed a new Scott Fuller exhaust. We would like to thank them for doing that

If we had to do it all over, we would choose the S.F. brand

Looks like old canada repo as no ford on the label part # like service ford exhaust.

Guessing that because you only took pictures of the tailpipes and resonators they are not the factory or service pieces we normally see that are one piece (each side)  including muffler from H pipe to tips/turn downs

With that, the non-factory like labels and the number in the one section of pipe don't believe they are factory or Ford service parts

As mentioned, this is a very old reproduction from Special Interest Cars in Canada. Lots of differences between that and the assembly line or Ford service part.

 TY everyone for your responses. My goal is to use the correct system as close as possible on my 66. These would be a nice pair for someone on a budget and have a member request purchasing once I order the new set from Scott Fuller.

 Hope this helps others with information and descriptions on what they have or looking to buy.

Just want to add that Scott Fuller is in a class on it's own. Quality remains long after price is forgotten. Nothing else even comes close. Enjoy once installed knowing you have made the best choice possible.

Let me say you will not be disappointed with Scott's exhaust.  I installed his exhaust on my '66 GT-350, and it fit perfectly.  No alignment problems and quality attaching hardware.
