Title: Steam Cleaner, anyone have one?
Post by: GT350Nick on October 22, 2025, 10:22:01 AM
I am looking for a portable, yet powerful, steam cleaner for degreasing, basic cleaning, etc. at a reasonable price...nothing commercial grade needed.

Any recommendations?

Rent one when needed would be my recommendation. I haven't seen a small unit yet that is worth a dam. Of course convenience is a consideration however you would have to use it a lot if renting to offset the initial cost plus maintenance of purchase one that would be capable of doing a reasonable job. I rent when I need one which hasn't been often. If I could find one a decent one under 2K I would jump on it . Until then I rent.

Thanks Bob.

With Vern buying lunch this year, I have some extra money for a purchase.

Not sure what or how much you're trying to clean of or on the car, but have you considered Dry Ice Cleaning?  Take the parts or car to a cleaner or some will come to your location.

Check out the EWBANK SC1000 on Amazon.  I purchased this item a couple of years ago to remove window tinting on a couple of cars and it worked flawlessly. Also used it to clean tile grout on kitchen floor, etc.  Runs for about 45 minutes on one filling.

Thank you...I was just looking for mild degreasing and cleaning

You certainly have a lot more and less expensive options when looking for a house hold unit compared to a usable one for a typical shop which is what I thought you were looking for given it was brought up on the forum given its emphasis. Best of luck with your search.
