MY 69 GT350 came to me missing a fuel tank and filler pipe. I have dropped in a standard 20 gallon tank and purchased a standard stock filler pipe. However then the filler pipe is set into place the bottom end of the pipe completely misses the opening. It fall short of the tank inlet. Did Fort make a special fuel tank tube for this year and model. If so where can I find one? I have researched all the usual sources like NPD and so on.
thanks
No special filler, maybe it was modified? Let me check...
Bad reproduction parts?
Pipe was cut shorter
Yes different filler necks for different gas tanks/years and the tops of the gas tank are different between many of the years.
Is there a label still on your reproduction part? Maybe someone sent you the wrong one or got the wrong label on the wrong part. Happens. Never purchased a reproduction so can't point you to one that will work for certain from a picture or description.
Originals for comparison.

69/70 Shelby filler neck is different then regular Mustang. ;) It starts off as a 69 stock Mustang filler neck and as Coralsnake indicated the filler neck is cut shorter so as to produce the angle that the fiberglass tail panel requires to line up with the gas tank inlet.
Also uses longer rubber hose than Mustang

Link is no good
since you mentioned previously that the car came disassemblef
you possibly may have the wrong components
Branda has these for 1969 shelby's
best of luck on your endeavors
Both of the links to the filler neck that Branda sells that others have posted are for a regular Mustang filler neck. The regular Mustang filler neck has to be modified as mentioned before to work in a Shelby.
Hi Bob,
In what manner does the filler neck need to be modified?
Elongating, bending or other?
Please illustrate us novices
Thanks in advance

Hence the answer was evident at all times, the solution to the situation was obvious, in plain sight, and clear to see from the very beginning , clearly positioned in answer four at all times. How could one miss this as it is clear as day.
In essence "SeƱor Leterip" needs one original Ford SHELBY 1969-1970 fuel filler neck hose part number S9MS-9047-B
Or better yet and probably more economical, go to an auto part or truck auto part store.
Ask for a fuel hose that has a 2.25" inches inside diameter and is 6-1/2" inches in length.
This is the additional length needed to compensate for the standard Mustang that use a hose that is only 4-3/4" long.
The longer hose 6-1/2" inches is needed because of the shorter Shelby vented fuel filler neck and angle coming out of the fiberglass taillight panel and this is why the Shelby requires this longer hose.
Simply elementary!
Except that the GT 350 filler neck does not need to be vented. The GT500 should be.
Its unfortunate that there are people who are trying to answer questions who have no earthly idea what they are talking about.
Hopefully the moderator is taking note.
The reputation of SAAC is being damaged by this constant flow of bad information.
Blindly referring people to vendors, copying information from the internet and asking chat gpt is no way to answer a question in my opinion.
I perfectly understand why there are some very smart people who don't want to participate in the forum, but I understand that is the goal, flood the forum with garbage.

Hi Bob
Would you please elaborate more on the vented vs non vented on a GT500 vs GT350?
Thanks in advance
Here are some trunk photos of our 69
Hope this helps
