Title: looking for advice
Post by: csheff on September 16, 2025, 07:47:43 AM
For a 67 Gt-500 what is correct fuel can filter? C5AZ-9365-A, C4AZ-9365-A or?
Also would a water pump C6AE-8505-B 6J17 be ok for a Jan 26, 1967 Ford build date?
Thanks all
Craig

I think you mean the fuel canister because the fuel filter is designed to work with all of them. You will have to visually identify correct canister as far as I know the part number is the same with the red trademark FOMOCO and the red trademark Autolite. There is a earlier style red and black marked FOMOCO canister.  The most correct fuel canister is the white can marked with the Autolite trademark. There is a unpainted zinc dichromate canister with the Autolite trademark but it is a much later service replacement. Most people settle for using the excellent repro or more common NOS FOMOCO marked canister. The most important think on the waterpump is the C6AE-B casting number the second in line of importance is the date code. 6J17 date can be considered as too early. My own opinion is that it is in the Goldilocks zone not too early and not too late. The determining factor is the engine build date and not the car build date. FYI the date code is not taken into consideration in SAAC DIV II or MCA trailered concours.
