After eleven months, and many grey hairs I'm proud to say we've finally completed our '70 Shelby clone. You guys have helped us source hard to find parts, and how to put something together that.. Not too many people know how! My father had one that he bought and restored in 1976, but circumstances made him sell it in 1991.
As you can see, he kept the license plates hoping to get it, or another one back! We did a resto-mod with this one... Which you can't with a real one, so it's Sniper II EFI, four link, big brakes, front IFS with rack and pinion, and hydroboost brakes..
Hope we did a decent tribute!! Probably could have bought a real one for what it cost, it's still awaiting final cut and polish, but that's Sept 22nd!
Your car came out beautiful, that red paint looks awesome. Not because we are partial to red.....Now go out and enjoy the drive!
Did you mini tubb it? Because those look like some pretty big tires and wheels.

Thank you!! It's competition orange, I was hoping to go with that more light orange, but this turned out perfect for the car. We must have good taste.

Absolutely, the only thing from the original '70 sportsroof was the roof, firewall, and the rear deck panel (Which was cut out for the shelby tail lights.
The rear tires are a 315/40/R17 Nitto 555R street slick Front was a 245/40/R17 Firestone Firehawk.
I love that they make the repro 17" 69/70 Shelby wheels.

comp-orange, at first glance it looked red.
Nice touch on the bumper treatments, makes it all blend in smoothly we must say
Kind of cool and almost period correct that the bumpers are painted body color. Nice job on that.
Cool Mopar in the background. I guess the landscaper slid his 'vette the in that one photo,eh.

I love that you can mini tub a car and put some big fat tires on the back end. Mine was tubbed, And flared, so that I could run 335-35-17 tires on the back of mine, and it's flared in front to run 275-40-17 tires on PS Engineering replica TA wheels.

The mini tub and a four link sure give you a ton of room, yours looks great!

Thanks and yours looks great also. Hope you actually use and enjoy your car unlike some people that are too afraid to drive them after making them really nice. I've had a few people tell me I'm crazy for actually driving mine.

Absolutely, as much as possible.
I am usually stuck in my work van/truck so I seldom get to drive them, but I'm hoping next year I'll have more time!
