1981. Factory double black KR 4 speed with A/C. Pulled it out of a construction ditch in Virginia by wrapping a chain around the roof and lifting it with a backhoe.
I would like to welcome them both back!
Remarkable they survived
I remember those Michelin-Tire-Man looking winter coats. :D
Looks like it's in front of the old garage in Enola.
Sorry...
I couldn't resist....

Yes, it is.
Lets just make this, probably should have been lost forever, but somehow survived
The black KR Bill Collins posted is alive and well and living in Canada. I'm currently putting the motor together and hoping to see the road this spring. I can post some current photos if anyone is interested.
Always.
love these old photos and thanks for sharing
Keepem coming!
The day we brought it home.

One thing I remember about it is that although somewhat bent, it was remarkably rust free. The fellow I bought it from had been using it as a parts car for his other standard '68 GT500. Great to see it is coming back!
It is indeed rust free, and now straight. All we did was to give the undercarriage a good cleaning.

Wow, even the paint inspector's yellow stamp is still visible on the cowl!
Yes, and there is also one on the top of the fender where it bolts to the apron. I also have the original owners manual and most of the original build sheet. Quite remarkable that it survived after all these years.
