Agreed! The wall of engines too. Most impressive. Their dyno room was in operation during our visit Thursday. I took a short video of the tech doing multiple engine pulls on the dyno. My video file might be too large to post. I'll try but can easily send it to someone who can resize it.
Cheers,

Poker chips in lieu of Dash Plaques for SAAC 50.
My dash will look funny with two of them. (One of each side)

Thanks Earl, for posting another picture of the map. Just for others that didn't make it the Concours area was about three times the size shown on the map. GREAT turnout!!!
Sure pictures of the cars and Concours area will surely follow. Too busy with the show and taking pictures of a few cars for me to get some of the over all area and turn out this year :-[ . Maybe a separate thread for those cars..... we'll see where others choose to post them.
BIG THANKS to all that made it possible.
Came up Thu/Fri to catch up with back east friends and the Friday dinner. Went to Huffaker at the track to get some info on the engine in my GT1 car. Snapped a pic of 002 at the dinner and this one. It was great talking to Mike Shoen about the Lone Star. The last time I'd seen it in the 70s it was parked outside in the rain with parts missing.

Craig Jackson drove Lil Red for Parade Laps on Sunday. Both Lil Red and Green Hornet led the way around Sonoma Raceway for a few laps. Great to hear both cars fire up and go. Very cool.

Mark,
Very cool post, being that all three of those cars have a very good SCCA history. Thanks for posting.

The event had many VIP's there.
I was able to spend some decent time talking with Peter Brock, Mike Joy, and Craig Jackson during the weekend
Thank you for posting the pictures. We were unable to make it to SAAC-50. I've only been a member for a few years but have attended three events so far.

The hype before the sale? How long before Lil Red and the Grn Hornet hit the block as a pair?
Craig put the Hornet up for auction in 2013 - it bid to 1.8 million but he expected 3 so it was a no sale.
Or will he sell the green cars together and build a 2020 Lil Red to auction too???
He doesn't care about these rare Shelbys...EVERYTHING is for sale...$$$$... >:(
Earl,if you get a chance could you send me those engine pictures we talked about!
Thanks you all who posted photos. I've been to quite a few National Conventions, all in the central area of America. They are aways great. Thanks again.
here are a few from Sunday

The best....Royalty!
Some of the VIP's I was able to spend some good time with
I purchased these photos of 1432 in the vintage race from the track photographer. Craig Conley driver...
Great photos 6S1432. In street trim, the 67 has always been my favorite, but nothing beats the early car with R model treatment.
Anyone have any pics from the Dinner of the group of guys in the shirts? (Hawaiian) if u want to call them that.

Not the Hawaiian shirt photo the question was intended for (this is a SAAC 50 thread, not a SAAC 49 thread). Kopec wouldn't be at the SAAC 50 dinner..... ::)
