Title: What did you do to your 1966 Shelby today?
Post by: FL SAAC on August 19, 2025, 08:41:47 AM
So it was time to clean out the old heap. Took several McDonald land fries and napkins out that the kiddos had left in the back.

Then reorganized my glove box.  Forgot I had a Hertz Rand McNally DIST - O - MAP to calculate my travels from here to there

I receive a call from my man jJC advising me that he has found a shop near his place of work that may be  able to replicate the seat belt fobs or covers

He picks up the samples and takes them to the owner Juan.

Juan walks over to the SCRAPs and pulls out a piece of leather and hand cuts it to kinda sorta the size.

Ten minutes later Juan has cut and reinstalled the new items on the seat belts using the original attaching studs.

What a genius!

JC asks Juan how much it cuanto por su trabajo?

Pues nada mas que cinco pesos.... It's just $5 dollas cashmoney.

JC hands him a twenty and thanks him

Mission accomplished and found a new AMIGO

Well everyone knows our 1969 red headed step child got new shoes recently.

Brought it home parked it next to its older sibling, one of  the Shelby Hertz "Black & Gold Bad Boys"

Then we hear its horn go off, couldn't figure out what was going on.

Until we figured out "it" was jealous.

So we had to go back out and purchase it new shoes also.

These new tires look  like "almost" the same as the factory o.e.m. tires.

They both use black rubber and white letters.

Looking good in the neighborhood!

I usually dont let anyone drive one of our  "Black & Gold Bad Boys" , but when I do I dont tell them it has no power steering.

You should have seen this little fella struggling to get it out and in of their bays.

What were you taking it to a Costco for? I wouldn't think you would trust them to do anything on your car.

Roy,

as everyone knows Costco does not make any of its labeled products. They are all made by quality first class manufacturers and then private labeled for Costco.

Just like when you purchase their Costco fuels, you are getting Mobil, Exxon, Shell fuels or top tier.

Cause Costco doesn't make any fuel.

But we actually purchased tires and they are brand tires.

Why buy here?

Because they dont hassle or question you about any tire issues.

They just fix it or replace it and make you happy.

Other tire places will interrogate you as to what happened to the tire.

What day of the week did it get damaged?

What highway were you on?

Was it raining?

What color of the car was in front of you?

And I know the manager and all his crew at Costco.

Buy them food from the food court,  see them at car events etc.

Real good people and they have the best prices and warranty on the tires

The End

I second Costco. Great service with their tires and they don't bang up the wheels like most other shops.

I agre that Costco did not damage my 10 spokes on the 66 when I changed tires a few years ago.
