Title: Door wiring for speakers
Post by: cob428 on July 31, 2025, 07:40:34 AM
General question. 69 GT 500 was built originally with am radio. PO changed radio to am-fm, correct door speakers, etc.
Did the door wiring come with speaker harness originally or would that have been changed also?
Basically I am asking if the door harness for lights and radio is the same regardless of stereo or am radio?

Pete

Different harness. I just removed the door wiring from my 70 AM radio car, and it did not have the provisions for speakers.

Different door wiring on both sides and a different harness from the radio that branches to both sides for AM/8 track or AM/FM stereo as it relates to AM radio . The dash speaker is not used on AM/FM stereo or 8 track if so equipped. I believe all harness's are reproduced.
