It appears to be a Ford A.O.D. transmission. But I don't know why anyone would want an actual "manual valve body" in their classic Shelby for cruising around? :-\

Maybe just the wrong forum at the wrong time. Lot's of intangibles at play when selling. If legit, it's a 110-120k car all day long-esp. being a '70-imo. Owner should not be discouraged-keep at it or keep it and enjoy it.
