Auction description:

This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 fastback is one of 2,048 examples produced for the model year and was completed on December 12, 1967. It was refurbished before being purchased by the seller's father in 1997. Work included a repaint in green with gold stripes, rebuilding its 428ci Police Interceptor V8, and overhauling the suspension. Equipment includes a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, a 9″ rear axle, a limited-slip differential, a pair of Holley 600-cfm four-barrel carburetors, Hooker headers, and a 2.5″ dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers as well as power steering, power front disc brakes, and 15″ alloy wheels. The body is outfitted with a rear spoiler and functional air scoops, and the black vinyl interior features front bucket and rear Sport Deck seats, a roll bar, inertia-reel shoulder harnesses, and a push-button AM radio. This GT500 is now offered with service records, Shelby window stickers, a 2006 Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) statement of value, a Deluxe Marti report, a 1967 Shelby Registry (2022 Edition), a June 2005 issue of Mustang Monthly magazine in which the car appeared, a show placard and stand, awards and memorabilia, and a clean Oregon title in the name of the seller's family trust.

The GT500 model was equipped with a ducktail rear spoiler, fender extensions, air scoops on the sail and quarter panels, and a louvered fiberglass hood with a ram-air scoop. This example was ordered in Dark Moss Green (Y) and was refinished with gold Le Mans and GT500 side stripes during the aforementioned repaint. Additional exterior details include hood pins, inboard grille-mounted driving lamps, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 10-spoke 15″ alloy wheels are fitted with Shelby Cobra center caps and mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. GT500 models featured an upgraded suspension system with heavy-duty coil springs and an anti-roll bar up front in addition to heavy-duty leaf springs out back. The suspension is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the car's stance has been lowered. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket and folding Sport Deck rear seats are trimmed in black vinyl, and the black carpeting is overlaid with rubber GT500 mats. Interior appointments include front seat shoulder harnesses, rear seat lap belts, a push-button AM/FM radio, a heater, a woodgrain shifter handle, and a Carroll Shelby signature above the locking glovebox. A roll bar with inertia-reel harness mechanisms was standard in Shelby cars. The seller notes the presence of rub marks on the driver's door panel.

The three-spoke woodgrain steering wheel with a Shelby Cobra center cap fronts a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges, while Stewart Warner readouts for oil pressure and amperage are mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles.

The 428ci Police Interceptor V8 was bored .030″ over under previous ownership and fitted with Cobra Jet cylinder heads, an Alliance Cams camshaft, roller rocker arms, and Cobra Le Mans ribbed aluminum valve covers. It breathes through a pair of replacement Holley 600-cfm four-barrel carburetors, a Cobra-branded oval open-element air cleaner, and a set of Hooker long-tube headers flowing into a 2.5″ dual exhaust system equipped with Flowmaster 50 Series mufflers.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels by way of a C6 three-speed automatic transmission fitted with a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter, a B&M competition valve body, and Torrington bearings as well as a 9″ rear axle with a Traction-Lok differential.

The Deluxe Marti report displays a January 12, 1967, build date and lists factory colors and equipment along with production statistics.

Looks like this is 67412F5A00561. I don't understand why BaT doesn't post that right up front. It is probably the most important detail of all.
