I am showing my 68 GT350 at the Audrain Newport Concours d'Elegance this October. I have never attended this event but it looks like a lot of fun. Jay Leno, Donald Osborne and other will be there. Has anyone else ever been to this show. Any recommendations?
Thank you,
Corey
Congratulations!

Congrats, tell Jay all the old technicians at Foreign Motors says "Hello"
Congrats Cory - that sounds great 8)
I'm not sure how "related" things are at Audrain(?) - but there is a bit of Shelby connection:
David Donohue (son of Mark Donohue) is at Audrain "Motorsport" as the Senior Vice President of Member Experience & Sales (whatever that means ??? )
The Audrain Newport Concours d"Elegance kicks off this Wednesday 10/1. The Actual Concours is on Sunday 10/5 at The Breakers. It is pretty expensive to attend but Saturday 10/4 there are several free events including a Cars & Coffee and a Bellevue Car Display. If anyone lives in the area I would love to say hi.
Corey
Take lots of pictures
I'm jealous
Two years ago, my wife and I were touring New England and very randomly, visited "the cottages" the very day of the Audrain Concours. I kinda felt bad for the wife, she thought we were spending the afternoon looking at houses and furnishings and we end up at a car show, ha. I would give the Audrain 10 stars if that is allowed. The setting on the back lawn of The Breakers overlooking the water and the top notch cars of all kinds make for an excellent show. Congrats on being selected to include your car. That is a great honor. Enjoy and yes, please post a picture or two.

Good luck Cory, your car is beautiful!
Well that was the most exceptional car event I have ever attended. They treated the entrants like kings and queens. My wife had more fun than she has ever had at a car show. They wined and dined us for 4 days.
The tour d'Elegance was Saturday morning and took us on a 65 mile tour in and around Newport with a 45 minute visit to a winery in the middle. It was there that I got the opportunity to talk with Jay Leno about my car. He was so extremely cordial and inviting. This was the highlight of my weekend.
The swag they gave us was amazing. We received a beautiful embossed leather bag, two hats, a blanket, 2 chairs, detailing spray...
There were 3 Shelbys in the American Muscle car class, 2 68 GT350s and 1 69 GT500. The white GT350 won the best in class which was great to see.
The venue was breathtaking. Its called The Breakers and it was a "summer cottage" for the Vanderbilt's. It is well worth touring this summer cottage, it is awe inspiring.
I highly recommend submitting your car for this event. It is well worth your time.

First and foremost congratulations for having your car accepted and great pictures keepem coming
Wow - and of course your car looks great.
Meeting Jay Leno - and confirming that he is "one of us" = fantastic 8)
"My wife had more fun than she has ever had at a car show" - that's the real win 👍✅
Congratulations!
Corey, Congratulations great to be able to have your car on yard there!! and thanks for the insight with photos!
With all of the work you have put into your car, it moved it from a "really nice car" into a "an awesome example of the brand" You deserved your spot on the lawn
Congradulations
Corey,
Great report on a very classy show. Do you know any more about the cars in the pictures like the Ford GT'S ? Nice to know the show has such a wide variety of cars and vintages.
Giant PLUS ONE.

They gave out "THE CAR GUIDE" books at the show. In the book is a description of every car. If there is something specific you want to know I can take a picture of that page of the book and post.
Corey
That is what is so cool about being in large "apply to enter" shows such as this. They treat you right. Always plenty of positive comments.
One time I lived in Long Beach CA (Maybe around 2000 or so) and Jay was hosting the Tonight Show. I attended a literature fair at a speedway north of LA - don't remember the name but it is still open. Anyways Jay drove his Duesenberg roadster that day and parked it in the middle of the event. No one attacked him or asked for an autograph. He was a car guy and we liked having another car guy there. If he wanted to park his Duesenberg where he did it did not bother us.
Very cool Cory - we wish we were you.

Corey,
Would like any info on the Ford GT'S that were shown. In the picture you posted it appears to have 4 cars....I am curious about the white car with strange fender flares and hood scoop also posted, It must be someones creation and looks fiberglass???
Thanks for sharing this stuff.
