Title: SnakeBytes newletter returns - What does this mean for The Shelby American?
Post by: SunDude on June 02, 2025, 08:50:56 AM
I just received an email notice announcing the return of the ol' SnakeBytes newsletter, and have downloaded the first new issue.

I don't want to start any rumours, but it prompts me to ask: What does this mean for The Shelby American quarterly magazine?

Will the SnakeBytes newsletter replace The Shelby American, or will SAAC members now receive both?

That's a great question, Brian...

We resurrected the Newsletter to provide a more frequent and timely way to communicate with the membership... that had been sorely lacking, since not all members use this Forum.

There will always be a Quarterly Magazine; we are currently assembling Summer 2025 of the Shelby American.
(...and always could use some member contributions! ..send to: saac@saac.com)

The expectation is to provide SnakeBytes on a monthly basis.

Thanks for this straightforward answer, Ron.

Thanks Ron. A monthly email sounds great.

I want to emphasize what Ron said earlier in this thread.

"(...and always could use some member contributions! ..send to: saac@saac.com)"

As you all know, the Quarterly magazine does not write itself. SAAC is always looking for reader contributions. Whether it's EELH, owner's stories, or articles about local events, send the info in. You don't have to be a professional writer. Send in an article with two or three photos, and you will most likely see it in an upcoming Quarterly.

You can even write about Jay Talbots Prius driving brother and they will publish it.
Actually, most all of you have a story, a technical tip, a restoration clarification, a fantastic afternoon drive, a scary tale of breakdowns or interaction with the local law enforcement, a great show you went to, and even a show that was not that great. Anything Shelby related. Come on and write something. There's got to be a Ernest Hemmingway, Steven King, or even a young Tom Cotter somewhere out there. We all live viscerally through the adventures of others.
