Only a service replacement, never assembly line installed. Not acceptable for SAAC concours.
Original ones are easy to find.
Have seen these many times since the originals in most parts of this country took a beating.
Take notice of the date on the shipping label - from the 80's. Service parts were made to serve in place of the original parts and in many examples didn't have to look like the originals if they were not things like emblems, exterior panels and the like. Sometimes how different they are from original period correct pieces is amazing.
Yes currently installing factory type ac in our 69 GT500. We have this one and one original tyoe

Sorry don't understand your comment. A 69 Shelby would not have used one shaped anything like what is shown in the Ebay ad or one of the original versions.
Compare ;)

I have another version of the Ford Service part in my collection. I'll most likely install this in my 65 convertible project. With the exception of the original cardboard ones or aftermarket reproductions, I don't recall seeing the later Ford replacements installed in any early Mustangs. The one listed in Ebay looks terrible.
i have seen the plastic replacement version / i have never seen the fiberglass one
I remember these back in the 1980s.
If I recall, they were rather pricey. That, along with the low quality, prompted us to make what I think was the first reproduction heater plenums from vacuum formed plastic. They were pop riveted together and much nicer than those Ford service parts in fiberglass like that. They were also much more reasonably priced.
Those were made along with kick panels in the same material.
The current plastic reproduction heater plenums are, of course, much nicer.
